If you mean Software for the OS
( Usually Windows XP)
you can download free programs/ shareware
( valid for 30 days usually)
depending what kind of Software you need.
Basic Minimum
examples
1. An antivirus program ( free)

2. A firewall program
sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall ( trial

3. Antispy program from 1.
4. A web browser FireFox recommended
5. An e- mail program like OE. If you use
