Why are people so sadiistic?! If the snorer could stop, he would. Nobody goes to bed at night and thinks, "Aha, I'll snore tonight and make everybody else in the house lose sleep -- what fun"! All the nasal strips did for me was to make my nose very sore -- the snoring continued. If snoring is really loud and disruptive, chances are good that it is caused by a condition called sleep apnea, which MUST be taken seriously. Untreated sleep apnea not only stresses both the snorer and everyone else in the house who can't get a good night's sleep, it can also lead to heart malfunction and death! And, contrary to popular belief, many people have this condition who are NOT overweight. Apnea is easily treated with the use of a night-breathing aid called a CPAP. You must see a sleep doctor before you can get one, as they have to be individually adjusted, but most insurance covers the cost. CPAP eliminates snoring 100% and keeps the heart from being damaged. Surgery is very rarely used to treat apnea, as the success rate is not that good. Please ask your husband to get his doctor to refer him to a sleep doctor or sleep clinic ASAP. These facilities often have a long waiting list, and procrastinating can really damage his health. Do it right away. And enough with the pillows, hot sauce, etc - IT'S NOT HIS FAULT; IT'S A MEDICAL CONDITION, NOT A MORAL FAILING!

if you have health insurance - a CPAP machine worked for me -
and my wife likes the 'white noise' in the bedroom
ask your Dr for a sleep study - may refer you to a pulmonary specialist -
I went from 367 episodes a night where i quit breathing for 35 seconds or more - to 2 per hour - then 'norm' is 5-7/hr
My Oxygen content dropped below 80% and I never got to stage 3 sleep - and that means you never get to 4 where dreams occur
he will be more rested and the sex gets better cause he is not tired
appt time yet?

He may have sleep apnea. Get him to go for a sleep test and if he has it he will be fitted with a mask and a machine that will help him breath better and he will no longer snore. I got mine to go and now we all sleep in peace. Good luck.

Join the club .... my only solution is to send him in to another room to sleep ...... either that or do what I do and just keep prodding him when it gets unbearable.
Good luck
