I've been on the birthcontrol pill for atleast two years now. Does it lose its effectiveness after taking it for a few years?

no, not as long as you are taking it as prescribed by your doctor.

The pill does not lose its effectiveness after taking it for a long time.

It will still be as effective as now as it will be five years from now.

You can stay on it for as long as you need/want.

As an example, I have been on the Pill for fourteen years. No change as far as effectiveness is concerned.

Birth Control is a very good thing you are using, I prefer that on top of anything else, Condom's are a really good idea as well, but Its just not that same having the rubber material over one's penis, but back to your question! yes.... It will remain effective for another year, after that... you might want to switch over to a differen't alternative.

NO it doesn't as long as you are taking it as prescribed. EXACTLY as prescribed. One thing about it though if you take antibiotics some of them will make your birth control pills not work as well...

It is effective as long as you take it as ordered.

You can continue to take it for one more year and then you will need to take a break from it. But for now, you are fine.
