I'm American and I moved to Cairo, Egypt when I was 14 years old to go to school and attend university here. I'll be moving back to the states (Kentucky) in 1 year and I'll be 22 years old and married. (He's Egyptian) I've been looking into the process of renting an apartment when I'm there but I have no idea how I'd be able to do that since I have no credit history. I would have money to make payments for the first 5 months rent (up to $750) + deposit fees. How could I possibly rent an apartment for the first year of living there with no income in the begining and no credit history? I'm confused and have no idea what to do or what to expect. Help!

I would say get onto a Real Estate website from the area that also deals with rentals and get yourself a realtor that will speak on your behalf and has a lot of listings to look through. Im sure that could be pretty helpful. There may be a charge, Im not sure on that one though!!

Good luck!!

You're young, you have no outstanding debts, and you're moving back to America after completing university.
That's how most people would look at it, and you shouldn't have a problem getting an apartment.
I don't think you'll have issues getting back into the USA because of your background, but your husband may have a few issues considering you mentioned he is Egyptian.

I think your best bet would be to contact a property and see what they have to say on your situation. Regulations vary from state to state. Good luck and safe travels!

Do you have any relatives or close friends living in the US who could cosign for you? That's what I did with my first apartment.

Ask your family to help you. They may have to rent the apartment for you.
