It is not wrong. Everyone is doing it everyday! Look at how America is benefitting from the misfortunes it has created in Afghanistan, Iraq, Africa and other places. They ruin a country then employ so called "expat relief workers" from america and pay them thousands of dollars which they factor in as debt to that country yet the local people who work for the same relief organisations earn less than 1% of what the expats earn. Conglomerates are also benefitting from so called "cut throat" competition where they employ the dirtiest of tactics. Industries are benefitting from ventures which are seriously damaging the environment. Politicians are using others' misfortunes to get elected and profit from government money. Marriages and Relationships are based on falsehoods and lies just so that one gets what they want. Churches are using peoples faith to extract money from them and who benefits? ......... there are so many real life examples. So yes, if you profit then its ok

I wondered from your "lead-in" question if there would be more details. You know darned well that anyone but a sociopath would consider it "wrong" to cause someone misfortune. & then to profit by it? No further comment.

Yes. The Word of God says that what we sew, we will reap. You may not feel the brunt of what you are doing right now at this moment but you will. Life has enough heartaches and pains without adding on with ones that can be avoided. Ask God for forgiveness and try to do better. He will forgive you.May God Bless U.

I'm a paramedic. I profit exclusively from others' misfortunes.

Of course, I generally don't cause the problem...
