No, you can't help what you find funny. Look at Jackass even though they do it on purpose it is still funny.

Yes, you are sadistic and lack empathy if you are referring to innocent people being killed and beheaded. Put yourself in the other person's place and the place of the loved ones. Then, maybe it won't seem so funny to you. Maybe you will feel sorry for them.
