Hi I have a question.
I just moved to the states from Germany, I had both of my daughters in Germany Via c-section.

They got my first daughter because her heart rate went down. And my second daughter because I let my GYN talk me into it ;o(( I wish I would have never let him do that!!!

My 1st daughter is 3 and the lil one is 10 mos old. My hubby and I really, really want another baby later on. But I am SOOO scared of being pregnant again because of the c-section that it's crazy.
It was a horrible expirience for me that it still gives me nightmares.
And I never got over my c-sections. Thats why I never ever wanna have one again (if I'd had the choice)

Are there any woman that had a VBAC 2 (VBAC after 2 c-sections?)

Or is there a midwife that can give me answers.

Thank you so much in advance!!!

Jessica

First off, please get your medical records from your previous two surgeries to ensure you had low transverse incision on your uterus. That will determine if anyone will "allow" you to VBAC (I use that term loosely). Your best bet will be with a midwife and not an OB. It has been studied that a VBAC after 2 sections runs the same low risk of rupture as just one section, IF you are left alone to labor naturally and not have anyone intervene and no drugs. If you decide to go the hospital/OB route, be prepared for a fight. But there is lots of research out there that you can read and decide for yourself. You can do it. Don't let them tell you that you can't :) Good luck honey!

I have not had a c-section personally, all three of my children were born vaginally but my first was nearly a section.
I do however have a good friend Maria who gave birth via c-section in 10/04 and had a successfull VBAC in 11/05

I don't know where in the USA you live, but you should contact the Internation Cesarian Awarness Newtwork, my friend Maria founded the NYC Chapter, I will provide the link below. I think you should check it out and contact her, I am sure she can point you in the right direction.

I know Maria described nightmares and feelings of failure from her firet c-sections, I remember her crying at the thought of being forced into another section. She is a huge advocate of VBAC and she would be thrilled to help. I know she searched high and low for a doctor willing to let her try for a VBAC and I am sure she can help you. She is also a Doula and has been studying to beocme a midwife.

Many many women with 2 or more c-sections can go on to have normal vaginal deliveries. I have 1 son, 3 1/2 years old, delivered via c-section... I am in the process of looking for a provider that will support VBAC...

Check out this web site:

And these books:
The VBAC Companion by Diana Korte
The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth by Henci Goer
Silent Knife by Nancy Wainer Cohen & Lois J. Estner

I hope you get your VBAC. My hubby & I are going to begin TTC (trying to conceive) in may this year. These are the best resources I could find. My many prayer will be with you! Oh, and definatley find a midwife not an OB/GYN.

There are women who have done it, and I hope that I can be one of them! My 10 month old is gonna be a big brother here soon. I had a C-Section with him, and I'll probably have to have another. I don't know any personally, and it is pretty risky. You would have to go into the pregnancy prepared to have an emergency C-section if neccessary, and just hope for a better outcome. =( I'm sorry for you, though.

If it makes you feel any better... my hubby and I wanted 5 or 6 kids, and you aren't allowed to have that many C-Sections... so if I can't do it, we can't have the big family we've always wanted...

I don't know if you can. I heard that if you had to prior section it would be very risky. I am in the same situation. Please take my email down and let me know, i would really appreciated.....
