Because you have to trust in your receivers to make the big plays. In the 1998 NFC wild card game with the S.F. 49ers vs. Green bay Packers, Terrell Owens dropped several balls including a sure Touchdown. At the end of the game with the 49ers down Steve Young threw a Touchdown pass to him known as the Catch II by some in S.F. You have to trust in your receivers and what got you there. Unfortunately he was unable to come up with plays that absolutely cost them. Caldwell is not a great receiver, no receiver on the Patriots could you really consider great. The game could have been won but it goes to show that the Patriots did need Deion Branch and David Givens. The Patriots team is relying more and more and more on Tom Brady. He is obviously a great player but the Patriots need to address signing and keeping key players to win big ball games.

Because that is how Tom Brady is; he doesn't play favorites on the team and if you drop one he isn't going to ignore you the rest of the game. He believes in second chances unlike some QB's who take it too personal. I can't stand him at all but I admire him in that aspect and as he said a while ago, his favorite receiver is the one that's open. Caldwell really set himself up well to be open many times but for some reason, he just couldn't follow through.

Because he doesnt have any other recievers. On Caldwells second huge drop, there was a miscommunication on the defense and no one was even covering him. It would have been absurd for brady not to throw it to him.

1. He was open
2. Reche (ya gotta love that name...not) is paid way more than anyone reading this to do his job...they expect him to be a professional but that wasn't enough.
3. The Patriots will always have lame receivers as long as they continue to follow that "Money Ball" style of system in which they will only spend a predetermined amount for each specific position...obviously, they don't believe in spending much on WR's so you'll never see a Chad Johnson or Larry Fitzgerald in a Pats uniform.

Because New England dont know what a WR means, that is why they have crap players in that position. Maybe Tom Brady should cut down on his glamourous lifestyle and use the money to buy some propper WR's.

Because he was open...It doesnt matter how many passes you drop if your in the NFL as a reciever and your open the ball will come your way, but if you drop to many over the season and dont produce then that person wont be in the NFL any longer.....
