The short answer: it depends on which theorist you ask.

Many theories of development concentrate on childhood and come to a stop once a person is considered to be an adult. However, there are other developmental psychologists whose theories continue throughout the life span (such as Erikson).

Nope... although the body may seem to stop its development it is still evolving slowly but surely. Mentally we never stop developing because we were given a mind that can expand to great lengths. We have to remember that we only use such a small percentage of our brains so what's the rest used for? Development and continuous growth and development.
