The Carolinas are very nice and many people are moving to Georgia. Florida is beautiful but has gotten expensive. I would pick a place with great schools, low crime, jobs and good weather. Don't worry about the diversity of your family.

Try Marshall, Texas. It's in the upper NE corner. Shreveport, La. is only 30 minutes to the east, Dallas 150 miles to the west, Texarkana is 70 miles to the north and Houston is about 3 hours to the south. It's right at the interesection of US57 and I20, so you can go anywhere.

The population is quite diverse with many whites, blacks, and Hispanics. There are 2 colleges there and the district is very historical. Marshall is the home of the US's largest pottery plant and is the hometown of YA Tittle, Bill Moyers, and George Foreman. Churches of all faiths abound.

Give it a visit. It's a smallish community of only 25,000. You'll find it full of charm!

Atlanta GA is very nice. Just be careful that your teenagers are constructively busy. Also North Carolina is nice. I am in Virginia, they is plenty of work but the cost of living is more than places in Georgia.
