Your mom is a girl.
So is Roseanne Barr and Rosie O'Donnell (I think).
If that doesn't help, nothing will.

You not have to divert. If you get a good girl as a friend everything will turn to normal. You will experience the change.

To divert attention, you need to engage yourself in an activity that may not be as equally attractive but stimulating enough to make you want to engage in it.

Your mind's diversion towards girls (hopefully in a positive way) is a natural occurence. It signals an individual's need and identification to belong to a group (in this case, a couple) and to develop group dynamics. You can't learn how to deal with another person romantically by simply thinking about it all alone in your room.

But you can't engage with a person romantically very successfully if you can't engage with them on a simple social/friendship basis. This means that you need to develop your own personal identification. You do this by engaging in activities that you like. By engaging in these activities, you will be directed towards groups of people with whom you will have an affinity, and thus be better prepared to find a girl who is compatible for you.

If you like muscle cars, hanging out at the grocery store (or ballet class) thinking about girls is not going to help you meet 'girls' with whom you are likely to be compatible socially, and then sexually/emotionally. The more you engage in activities that define yourself, whatever they are, the more you prepare yourself to meet a 'girl' with whom you can then explore the social dynamics of emotional and physical intimacy.

Also, exploring activities that you really like will relieve your mind of some of the fear pressure you feel. We most likely concentrate on the things we are afraid of, as a way to prepare ourselves against it. Don't be afraid that you will not find a girl whom you like, and who will like you in return. Find out about yourself, and you will both find each other when you are ready.

Accept it as a natural thing and do not think too much about it. it is quite a natural activity and spend some time with some friends who are girls to get over your lack of access to girls!!
