PAKISTAN WILL BE PLAYING A ONE DAY SERIES IN SOUTHAFRICA IN FEB & THAT WILL TEST THEIR PREPARATION FOR THE WC . Australia is obviously the team to beat with 5 of their batsman ranked in the top 11 on the ICC Player Rankings and clearly infront as far as results and current form. They have also proven that they have strong bowling options to replace McGrath and Warne.
India is not in great form and were horrible in the Champions Trophy. No chance.
England and New Zealand obviously can't keep up.
Australia has too much fire power for Sri Lanka.
This leaves Pakistan, South Africa and the West Indies. These are all good teams and could beat Australia on the day.
I predict a West Indies (home advantage) v Australia rematch from the Champions trophy with Australia winning.

I agree that the Aussies are having a great time over the past few years. But this does not mean that only they are having the ability to win the world cup. Our Indian team also has the ability to beat even the strongest teams of the world. We can't forget India's achievements also. In 2003, India reached the world cup final beating all the teams except Australia. India has also beaten Pakistan in Pakistan and West Indies in West Indies. India had also given Australia a tough contest in Australia.
So I think that INDIA still has enough chances to win the World Cup.

Definitely INDIA will win the World Cup 2007. Because our team having strong batsman line and good bowling performance and fine fielding, also a good coach.
India lost some odi matches, but they rectified the mistakes. Ganguly became a old form it's advantage of our team . Plz remember Ganguly and Sachin is a good Opening pair in ODI. Now both players are playing well. Def India will win the 2007 world cup. No doubt...!

Being an Indian i would love that India Should win but the way they perform doesn't look that they were any way near to it, I don't say that they don't play well but there is lot of areas where they have to improve that to in a short time, which is a bit difficult one but not the impossible, Australia have the posibility if wining the Cup, but again i'm saying that I love India should win it...
