Well, I know there are a few ladies out there who tend to act up when they go to the mall because if there husband won't buy them what they want they start whining. Anyways, some of their husbands give them maintenance spankings before they go to the mall so there butt will be sore and they will know who is the boss and what they will get if they end up being a brat at the store. I guess I was just wondering how common this was.

Maintenance spankings are a common idea is domestic discipline relationships, and often are quite effective. The main purpose isn't as a deterrent, though, but to remind the spankee (I prefer this term, since not all domestic discipline relationships involved the wife being spanked by the husband, though this is probably the most common) that the spanker is in charge. It is an assertion of dominance. And, yes, maintenance spankings are "discipline." Discipline is about setting up patterns of good behavior. However, discipline and punishment are not the same thing. Yes, a spanking can be either discipline or punishment, but never both at the same time. Punishment, though, only occurs after misbehavior, and usually only after very bad misbehavior. Discipline, though, could be any repetitive methods that the spanker employs to help the spankee learn good habits. Because of this, discipline (including spankings) can occur before any misbehavior, since the goal of discipline is to avoid such bad behavior. Even setting up a reward system can be considered "discipline." Maintenance spankings (which I prefer to think of as "reinforcement spankings" most of the time, or as a "preemptive strike" when I'm trying to be funny) remind the spankee of what the rules are, and that they should be following them. A maintenance spanking should therefore be a lighter spanking (firm enough to be unpleasant, but lighter than an after-behavior discipline spanking, and certainly much lighter than a punishment spanking), and be given just before putting the spankee into a situation that is likely to entice them to misbehave.

I usually go to the mall alone, hubby goes actually for the big spending ones to supervise the kids... He is very loving when it comes to this kind of stuff because he knows how much I like nice things. However, I don't take it for granted and know when I can and cannot shop because lets face it, money can get away from you quick.

dude your girl is you PARTNER not your child. You sound like a huge bratty freak. Are you insane?? You've obviously got osme kind of control issue and I hope your girlfriend gets OUT before the control gets worse. You need to see a counselor, psychologist, something. You're nuts. You have NO right to treat her with such disrespect. She's your girlfriend, not your child, and she has her own free will and her own life and her own body and whether or not she ever becomes your wife, those will remain hers to do with as she pleases.

haha my husband would never do that to me.! He would even be the one to offer to buy me anything nice he could find. And besides, I don't like being spanked. It distracts me.! haha

I take a cat-o-nine-tails in my purse, if he says no, i beat him repetitively until he gives in and lets me buy it. I usually don't have to use it though, he's a nice guy and he isn't a cheap ba$tard.
