I've been having round ligament pain since about 16 weeks. They got worse for awhile but lately have started to get better (I've been told it's because my uterus is resting more on my pelvis lately and not being pulled as much.) Regularly I do something at night to cause them to flair up again, but it usually only lasts a couple minutes. Last night I flipped and was in horrible pain. What was odd was that I was still in pain in the morning, I've never had it last into the morning before. I could barely walk today and am still in as much pain as I was this morning. I've rested and it's still not going away. I consulted with a nurse today and she told me to talk to my doctor tomorrow and that I shouldn't worry about it being pre-term labor. I have an appointment tomorrow with my doctor so I'm going to bring it up then. Has this happened to anyone else? Is this maybe a torn ligament? This is very painful!!!

I had the same thing happen and it was actually the round ligament pain combined with a pulled muscle. I had pulled the muscles in my abdomen and it felt like I had completely torn teh round ligament to shreds. It hurt so bad! My doctor told me to soak in a warm (but not too hot for the baby) tub and two or three times a day put a towel warmed in the dryer on my belly (over my shirt). The intense pain went away in about a week and I went back to just the round ligament pain.

IT COULD BE a torn ligament BUT I doubt it. It's not done stretching yet, you are only 28 weeks so. Just ask your doctor tomorrow. Good luck. = ]]
