The do not live in a state so they do not get represented in Congress or the Senate. Washington DC should join Maryland so that they will be represented in Congress by Maryland's representatives.

They do, they have an electoral vote and the people vote for who they want in office. District of Colombia would be more accurate in regards to the people in D.C.
