Am I reacting to this because I'm too sensitive or....why are they trying so hard to tear me apart and it does get to me! I mean I love life but I also love other people and I don't think there is anything wrong with feeling Great about who you are.

No, it depends on the situation, but one clear rule stand out... do not let others put you down, always set limits to other people, that is how you protect your integrity and who you are.

If you do not do it nobody else will, if they are your real friends they will understand if not they are not worth it and you can just move along.

one of my favorite songs is "everybody's free (to wear sunscreen)". a line in there has one of the asnwers you're looking for. it goes like this - don't be reckless with other people's hearts. do not put up with people who are reckless with yours.

as someone already said, there's nothing wrong with self-confidence. try to keep it from turning into arrogance, but don't obsess about it. but even if you were being arrogant, your friends had no business being abusive. abuse is never acceptable. you need to ditch your friends.

Several possibilities here. One being they are jealous of you, another being you are too full of yourself. Not knowing you I wouldn't know which. You could always get some new friends.

Nothing wrong with confidence...but it doesn't take much to cross over into arrogance.
