Well i know there is divorce in the Bible cause Moses wrote the divorce document because jesus told him too,and when moses ask why? because it was not Gods will for divorce,Jesus answered because of the hardness of mens hearts...So i do know there was divorce...Then another place in the bible Jesus was at a marriage supper, and they ran out of wine,so Jesus turned the water into wine....So I know that there was a celebration of the marriage..I don,t know of any license however...All i can say about marriage Licence is that Jesus said to uphold the laws of the land,so since it is a law to marry and become one in the eyes of God,then i do feel that God honors the union....And you would be upholding he laws of the land as a legal document of marriage, and the law does regonise marriage....Thats all i know..Oh and the bible also says that a man and woman who sleeps togeather and are not married is committing fornication...so every thing points to marriage as being Gods will....I do hope that i have answered your questions and not avoided any...

Require a license or document? -- Nope, the State does. But me thinks you're looking for something that lends some kind of authority from the Bible to b/s some female.

But back to the Bible, Jesus did say: Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's ... The law sets forth the requirements of a marital union and, in most instances, that is a piece of paper.

I don't have scripture for you, but from what I know, the bible handles this agreement verbally, "I do", etc. It's the announcement and the affirmations of both parties and the attending party (pastor) that makes the marriage true and binding, however, technically, and to make it legal with the world, you need a piece of paper to do it, and make it "happen". Hope this helps....

I am aware of no Bible text that says what you must do to become married. It says a lot about what is good and bad to do in marriage, but I think you should just use you own culture to find out what constitutes marriage.

I know that God created the institution of marriage to be between a man and woman. And instructs husbands and wife on how they should live as husband and wife.

in Genesis, GOd constitute the marriage between Adam and Eve, but it doestnt stated their that they need document or anything that put in the paper... but since in our days or generation we need documents because we are only allowed to marry one person, unless if one died except islam religion. its also a protection for each individual so that no one will attempt to make adultery. but sometimes one still do, but its a evidence that she's/he's married person.
