Anonymity makes people bold. Some people make comments because they think it's funny to get others worked up. Other people genuinely feel this way, and use this site as a way to vent.

The main reason why racism didn't develop against white goes way back.
Africa, South Asia, The Americas never developed as advanced civilizations as Europe and North Asia. This is because the climate is hot in those areas creating more diseases and problems for farming, slowing down development. Europeans and North Asians could develop because of the temperate climate in the north (that's one reason the south is so poor)
When they began to explore the world (before Columbus too)Europeans saw the simple people from other countries and treated them as other "animals". So those people were kept as slaves. This thought eventually evolved into modern racism and spread all over Europe (Asia doesn't have much evidence of racism).
This belief eventually spread around the world as the Europeans colonized the Americas and later parts of Asia and Africa. The whites adapted to the climate of the Americas and mostly migrated to North America because the climate was closer to Europe's. Those beliefs were still carried with them.
Once America was independent those beliefs were still carried with them (but mainly with plantation owners in the south). At the time the South had a huge influence on the Government and the beliefs spread through the Congress.
After the Civil War, the abolition of slavery created huge economic crisis because the southern econ had been powered by the plantations. This made the whites angry that they had lost money. So hatred brewed and created things like the KKK.
This caused many blacks to be poor also because they didn't have any other skills besides farming. So being poor they couldn't make it to the government very well and the whites took advantage of that.
Even though people like Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks created big changes, racism is still strong in America.

Because we are all supposed to be enlightened, and programmed to operate a certain way. I don't care about being racist one way or the other. Everyone is. It doesn't matter what they think or say..they are. Otherwise we wouldn't use those terms to describe someone. We would instead use terms like "dark skin", "light skin tone". Who cares anyway. Eventually the majority of people in america will be mixed anyway. There will be no true "white" people. And the most powerful organization will be those like the NAACP. And someone had best help you if you think you can create a "pure" race. There is no such thing. White people have had it drilled into their heads that everything to do with hispanic people, and black people should be above-board. And if you say or do anything that is slightly off color, you will be branded. Oh please!! It is just racism in reverse and why we can't see that I don't know.

You make an excellent point.
I believe racism stems from fear and ignorance.
I believe racists lack a belief in their own worth and must find a way to feel superior.
But don't make the mistake of believing racism is a white disease. It is not. But you are right about this site: the white racists have a strong presence. It is up to all of us to rise above complacency.

I agree, I see so many racist comments... I think its just cause there is a lot of ignorance and/or fear of different things. It's everywhere, but I guess people are a little more comfortable doing it over the net because of its annonymous nature... I would like, for once, someone to say something to me to my face rather than running off with a stupid comment... or driving off.. Meh.. some people got no balls.

It's the times, the ones that think they are being treated in a racist way don't understand that they are the one holding themselves back, Martin Luther King was trying to change that but history forgets that. I also say more power to Mr. Bill Crosby at least he is trying to get his people to listen.

because some people are attention deprived so they sprew a bunch of racist crap to see how many people will respond. I'm Black and I have a problem with it. I guess we should ignore them because they want us to respond and they love to start conflicts and stupid mess.

Because racism affects everyone, whether it is directed at them or not. We are a society and we should always take a stand and denounce injustice against our fellow counterparts.
