Is it a tongue-in-cheek statement. The converse is true. The politicians are the scourge of this country. But for them, this country would have long since surpassed some very developed nations in the world.

quite a lot of them are still corrupt, but yes, they seem to be pulling together and actually working towards growth. they can still do a lot better if they thought more about the people and less about themselves though.
