Seriously, they are the lamest films dealing with time travel that I've ever seen.

I don't want to get into all the reasons why I think this, but if you share my sentiment you probably already know. There are many flaws in the time travel idea that are not addressed in these movies. The Dr. Brown character dosn't even give any type of explanation as to how he made time travel possible.

Although the plot was somewhat gripping, the realism just wasn't there. The writers of the films didn't even attempt to make it logical.

I agree... and I have also come to the conclusion that Tom and Jerry aren't real. I mean... gee if you whacked a cat with a rake it wouldn't keep chasing the mouse. and the new Superman is also fake too... and Titanic wasn't really filmed on the Titanic. Godzilla was another movie that was hard to believe too!

...and then there was the movie where the guy turned into a fish...(I happen to know the guy)

*GASPS*....I'm just so shocked that you said that. Please remember it is fiction, so please don't get into anaylsing it bit by bit.

I think the Back ot the Future Movies are some of the best time travel movies ever made. Considering time travel is just an unproved theory which may never be possible, to say the movie is unrealistic and illogical is just silly. It's a movie, don't try to make it into something more than it is!

HTH : )

But, they were entertaining and fun to watch. Dinosaurs can't be cloned, either but I liked Jurassic Park. Wax figures can't come to life, but I liked Night at the Museum.
It's called "suspending disbelief", and it is necessary for enjoying almost every single movie ever made.

Ummm...it's a movie? And movies are entertainment. Back to the Future is entertaining...so I guess it did it's job. If u want realistic...watch the Documentary Channel...or the Discovery Network..or TLC..heh heh.

i always that that the time travel occured because the plutonium sent 1.21 jiggawatts of electricity into the flux capacitor. that seems like a pretty logical explanation to me and i believe that if i put a flux capacitor in my car and charge it with 1.21 jiggawatts of electricity i could travel in time.

ill edit my post when the jobs complete and take you for a ride :)

Yes, it is cheesy. However, I doubt that the point of the movies were to be realistic. I think it's more about seeing your parents grow up. The other two, just banked of its own popularity.

prefer the original Time Machine with Rod Taylor but these were fun to watch when a person could forget their worries for a little while

Um yea, I'd say so since they went back in time. As far as i know that's not real. Its a movie, not the only one unrealistic.

It's called science FICTION for a reason. There are so many more important things to waste time and energy on, man. Just let it go.
