I think they changed it for the askers, so they wouldn't get offended when asking a question and getting thumbs down; they would continue asking.

Maybe because some people would ask questions on here just to stir up controversy... They would try to get thumbs down's on purpose. I think that the purpose of Y!A making this move was to reduce the number of people asking offensive or stupid things.
