ive seen citizen kane and one flew over the kukos nest. havent seen txi driver and i hear its good. the adventure of robnin hood i think ive seen but not sure. i really like older movies because they focus more on the dialogue rather thn action and crazy stuff. just look at casablanca and the godfather some of the greatest lines came out of those two movies alone.

Catch-22, it can be a little confusing.
M.A.S.H is hilarious, don't be put off because you have seen the tv show, the movie is different.
Citizen Kane is a classic.
One Flew over the cookoos nest is always great.
Breakfast at Tiffanys, I thought it would be too girly but it turned out to be great.
Taxi driver is good , especially if you like Scarface.
I have yet to watch lawerence of arabia but I hear its wonderful.
Easy rider is a trip in more than one way
Butch cassidy and the sundance kid
Good morning vietname
Apocalypse Now is freak but great.

Yes, my two favorite actors of all time are John Wayne and Cary Grant. Here are some of my favorite classics:
The Searchers is an awesome western, starring John Wayne. It has drama, comedy, action, adventure, and romance. I think it made AFI's 100 greatest movies list.
Bringing Up Baby starring Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn is probably the funniest movie I've ever seen. Of course, Kate tends to talk a lot and my husband says she gives him a headache but I love it.
The Adventures of Robin Hood starring Errol Flynn. This is a great movie on so many levels, the acting, the costumes, the scenery, the swordplay, and one of the greatest legends of all time. This is definitely the best film version of Robin Hood.
Any of the Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers movies. Top Hat, Swing Time, and Shall We Dance are my favorites. The choreography is nothing less than amazing.
Cat On A Hot Tin Roof starring Paul Newman & Elizabeth Taylor is a good one too. I usually don't care for either Newman or Taylor but I do like this movie.
The Sands of Iwo Jima starring John Wayne is probably one of the best war movies ever made.
I could go on but I'd better stop there.

The Ten Commandments is a great film.
My favorite old ones are the spaghetti westerns with Clint Eastwood. The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly , For a few Dollars More, and A Fist Full of Dollars.

I agree. Its almost if as saying you dont listen to old music... and thats crazy! I myself was not too crazy about old movies in general, but I started seeing them nevertheless, and they have some really really good pearls back then, such as the already mentioned "Casablanca" and also "Citizen Kane". I agree i still have a lot of catching up to do with old movies, and im talking really old 1960 and before and such, not seeing films like "The Godfather" part 1&2, "Star Wars" "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" "A Clockwork Orange" or many other classics or movies made by Hitchcock, Kubrick and many other great directors at the time is just... well... stupid. some are just plain boring, but we have plenty of those today as well, just gotta look in the right places.

I like watching the older movies (70s/80s) the best but I wouldn't mind watching a really old movie.
My favorite really old movies are Hold That Ghost (1941), The Yearling (1946) and Cobra Woman (1944).

i watched a few old movies bfore but there was one old movie that made me hate em all now..it was a war movie and the during one of the war scenes, the soldiers actually died before they were stabbed by spears and swords..and before this guy killed a guy using a new dagger that he took from his boot, there were already blood on it..
but to think of it, old movies are great for making u laugh like hell..and the movie i saw was one of the example.
