Don't you guys think so too? We must be safe so letting our government who is looking out for us take away some of our liberties especially the ones we don't really need to make us safe is a good idea don't you think so too?

Of course it is. Every good Christian patriot is willing to give up his or her rights if it means we can prevent another 9/11.

Our Government is made up of many rich people who would sell our Liberties and our soil, for more money. That is why we have to pay so much out of pay. WE, the working class, are blinded everyday by the rich and the social elitest to cover how politicians sell the United States to who ever covers their expenses. A lot of people know more about Paris Hilton or Bobby Brown than they know about their Senators or Representatives.

It is a fine line that must be closely watched. Who decides which liberties are unnecessary? As long as we maintain our right to choose those liberties, the government is doing its job.

The ones we don't really need? Which ones are those? I think we have a pretty good system set up already that does not need to be torn down.

It took some guts to rebel against the King. Why should we tear up all they fought for just to be "safe?" A true democracy carries risk, and is not for cowards. We are the home of the brave! Not the home of the perpetually scared.

Of course. That's pretty much what government does: takes away liberty to produce security.

We must make that balance all the time. Do you want more terrorist attacks or do you want the FBI to monitor your Internet usage? Do you want to feel safe, or do you want to be able to own an automatic weapon? The trick is getting the balance right. We will never satisfy everyone.

No. We are much safer now than we were 9/10/01 (although not as safe as we THOUGHT we were) without sacrificing any liberties.

It's something people don't like to admit.. but civilization in general can pretty much be defined ais trading liberty for security/stability.

The key is to make sure the trades are worth it.

How about you give up your rights? Listen closely, we have never been safe, we will never be safe, and nobody can keep you safe. "The Only Thing We have To Fear Is Fear Itself" I will not give up or change for these terrorist, that is what Bush told us, they hate our freedom and want to change it. So why would you give a leader absolute power over the people that is what communist countries have.

No! If that were the case, then why live in the US??? You could live in any country that takes away rights to "protect" you.

Where does it stop? Our Founding Fathers would have said that it was time to have another revolution.

EDIT:

Joecool12: you have to allow email...how else can I let you know how much I love you?

Exactly which ones do you think we "don't really need"?
As for the previous posters claiming the terrorists are attacking us because they don't like our freedoms, please supply a link to where you saw or heard ONE of them making such claims. The only people I have ever heard making this claim are the conservative spin doctors. Each time I hear someone say they hate us because of our freedom, I seriously consider throwing up because it is so patently stupid and completely lacking in serious consideration or thought.
