Not in my opinion…
and not in the opinion of the majority of the US citizens… not in the opinion of much of Congress… not in the opinion of some military experts…. but apparently the citizens and Congress can be ignored, and military experts can be replaced and King George’s will shall be done.

Yes I do. I feel that he has gotten a lot of beef over it too. He is being hit hard for sending more troops over there but you have to rotate and keep your troops fresh and mentally productive in today’s kind of war. My cousin recently passed away that had served over there and he was proud to serve under President Bush. As long as I am alive, I will support all of those that believe in this country even when she is falling on her knees. I feel that he has done a wonderful job and I hate it for the over 3000 soldiers that have lost their lives during this. However, it really makes me sick to hear parents and soldiers crying because they are on active duty for something that they freely signed up.

My short answer is no. The long answer has too many explanations that go with each step. One thing I will say is that there is a mathmatical ratio of combat troops and combat support troops that has not been met. For every one combat troops there must be a minimum of four combat support troops. For this reason alone there is inadequate security for our troops on any given day. With the increase of combat troops to be sent, there will be an increase to risk.
You do the math. The stated claim of 50-60,000 combat troops in Iraq out of the 147,000. Bush wants to send 21,500 more combat troops.
Combat support is communications, logistics, public relations military police, transportation, engineers and such. If we do not have enough of these roles, combat troops have to perform dual roles. Lessoning their security.

My opinion doesn't carry much weight since I'm not a soldier, but according to what I've read, most soldiers think so. That's good enough for me.
