Everybody wats to dance around the truth and it is reading like a lot of lies.
The truth is that Washington was talking to somebody on the set of Grey's anatomy and he referred to T.R Knight as a f*ggot, which he is, and T.R. Knight heard him say the word f*ggot and took offense to it. For reasons that are not clear, Dempsey and Washington got into an argument and push came to shove literally and it was reported that they got into a fight over what Washington said about Knight. Nobody has come out and said that was infact the reason for the scuffle. That was months ago. Then when walking out of the Golden Globes last week, a reporter asked Washington point blank, "Did you ever call Knight a f*ggot?" and Washington answered point blank "I have never called T R a f*ggot." Heigle was talking to another reporter saying that Washington has a problem and needs to get it under control. The next day Knight is on the Ellen show telling the story about what he heard Washington say on the set that day. Since then, Washington has apologized for using the word f*ggot but that does not satisfy some who want him fired. Most notably, Rosie O Donnell loves to talk about the subject , just like she loved to attack Kelly Rippa for telling Clay Aikens "I don't know where your hands have been...", when he covered her mouth on her own show and she was offended, and like when she tried to tell Donald Trump that he is no beacon of morality when he had to punish Miss America for drinking and partying while she is still underaged. O Donnell is getting to be a pain who feels she has to say things even if her views may be hurtful to others. They need to teach her a lesson and attack her sponsors, because she is costing other people money and making a nuissance of herself, and by other people I am talking sponsors for Grey's Anatomy, the Apprentice, and Regis And Kelly. Those sponsor's are getting tired of watching their products trashed by this woman. As for Washington, he has done all he can to make things right and if others won't let it go then they should just watch another show.

I do not think he deserved to be fired. I think he made a bad error in judgment. He should not have made the comment he made but he did apologize and I think he was sincere. I think his character was very important to the series and he will be greatly missed. ETA: TR Knight supposedly wasn't the intended target of the remark....it was Patrick Dempsey. Apparently, there had been previous problems between the two. It was said the Mr. Knight was not even there when the incident took place. (I'm merely repeating what I heard on Larry King from Isaiah himself.) This still doesn't make it right, just answering your question.

When T. R. Knight (george) was doing a scene Isaiah made a remake about him being gay, which in fact he is. It was said in a homophobic way tho. Apparently Isaiah is denying he said anything, but Patrick Dempsey was next to him when it was said and also got a bit fired up over it.
Gotta love the contraversy!

I don't want to get censored so I won't type it - he used the f word, as in an anti gay slur. Sort of like if someone used the N word towards him.
Of course if the gay actor had called him a n word slur, that guy would have been fired. It was a very Mel Gibson moment. He just needs to apologize for being a bigot.

He called T.r. Knight, who plays George, a F****t, a gay derogatory term, forcing Knight to come out. Now he denies that he ever said it.

Apparently he called one of the other actors on the show F***t, a homophobic slur and Patrick Dempsey punched him out, last fall.
