This is a system widely followed in America, and other countries, but I'm unable to understand it.
If a course that I want to do needs 18 Semester Hours, then how do I get there, and if it says I need 10 credits, how do I get those?

Usually credits, units, and semester hours refer to the same thing. They have to do with how much instruction takes place. For example, at a university operating under the semester system (a semester is usually about 15 weeks long), a class which meets 3 hours a week would earn 3 semester hours, or total of 45 hours of time in class (not including homework or studying time outside the classroom). Most courses range from one to four units, with three being a standard.

We also have some schools which operate on a quarter system, rather than the semester. In these cases, the quarter is usually ten weeks long, and courses earn credits or units. If a student transfers from a quarter system school to a semester system one, the second school has to convert the units - 4 quarter hours, for example, is less than 3 semester hours.

a million type hour = a million credit. So, a three credit type will meet 3 hours out of the week. many times. some instructions have exceptions, extremely technological expertise classes with labs or languages. I took eastern, which met primary, M-F, for one hour, yet become purely truly worth 4 credit. Or physics, that become 4 credit yet with lab and lecture spent 6 hours a week attending. purely hardship about what percentage credit you want to graduate. it really is what concerns. And, to get As, plan on 2hours of learn in step with credit a week. with a view to get an A in a three credit route, you should income 6 hours for that type a week. good success!

Credits, Semester hours, Credit hours refer to one and the same thing.
Usually, one course has 3 credit hours. So, if u want to take that course, u will have to register for 3 credits.
So, if a course needs 18 credits, (i am a bit confused here, courses dosent have this requisite, this should be for the whole semester), then for that semester u will have to register for 18 credits or 6 courses.

Each class is three credit hours except for science which is 4 credits becuase it involves a lab that is 1 credit which is seperate from your science class.
18 credit hours=6 classes
10 credit hours= 3 regular classes and the fourth class would be a science lab which is 1 credit.
