You really shouldn't be buying gold, it is againt the WoW EULA that you agree to every time you update. If you really want to give them gold, farm it yourself, that way it is more meaningful.

A necklace is nice but remember, she is leaving. If there is little or no possibility that this will go further then consider the amount you spend, unless money is nothing to you. Also, I have noticed something over the many years I have been in relationships: If she leaves and gets into a relationship at UNI then she is not likely to remember you because she won't wear the necklace. Think about it. When a new boyfriend or girlfriend is wearing jewelery the significant other usually asks where it came from. If it was from another guy, especially a special friend, the necklace ends up in a box or sold. Think about the gift...perhaps take her for a very nice time out. However, it sounds like you are just on the side and she is using you. Just an additional worry for you though.
