Physical beauty has been socialized to be an incredibly valuable tool because it is very beneficial to those that set the standards.

as a simple answer we can say, to attract the other people. Just like u are advertising ur product (ur self). girls tend to do more than guys from make up , hair styles, fashion , etc, because guys get attracted easily by physical beauty. In psychology it is will known that guy (primitive desire creature) affection is 0 to 1 scale ( turned on, turned off only), while girl (complex desire creature) affection is 0 to 9 scale which mean that girls like to know more than how the guy dress.

there is almost no relation between the inner beauty and the outer one. I dated drop hot girls but there were boring to death that I prefer to watch TV or hang out with guys than meeting them. that doesn't mean physical beauty means no soul beauty, because even none attractive girls can be boring too.

I think it is good to care about ur look. But over doing it, will make u slave to ur own style and look, and then ur inner beauty will fade
