GM dealerships still sell chevy 350s over the counter as "crate" engines. Every combo from mild to wild. If thats too expensive, find a good local performance engine builder. Usually a local shop that rebuilds car engines will sell 350s with 1 year warranty for $1500. Ask around at local dragstrips or speed shops for a good machine shop or engines for sale. Or do what I do, build your own engines.

Stay away from the parts store remanufactured engines. They are built with very cheap parts, and usually aren't balanced or put together very carefully.

before you go tearing it apart, take the spark plugs out and spray penetrating oil into the cylinders through the spark plug holes. then use a funnel to fill the cylinders with about 2 ounces of transmission fluid. then fill the crankcase with as much oil as you can put in it. the idea is to submerge the crankshaft and fill up the undersides of the pistons in the cylinders. let it sit for at least a day or two. then drain the oil from the crankcase and fill it to the normal level. leave the spark plugs out as you will push out the trans fluid when you turn the engine. Use a length of metal pipe over the end of a breaker bar to turn the crankshaft. if the engine is currently in a car, use a flywheel or ring gear turner. make sure the car is in Neutral and that the brake is set. that should free it up. that doesn't mean you won't have to tear it down eventually, but it should free it up

you can still probably get one from the gm factory. they still produce them in limited numbers but be prepared to pay through the nose for one and the shipping isnt cheap either. i would guess a new crate 350 would run somewhere in the neighborhood of 3000.00 or more.
