Honestly, I think it is ugly and sounds like a phrase you would use at work.

It's a good name. The Australian historian Manning Clark carried it with aplomb. A lot of people wouldn't recognise it as an old name though.

I really like it. It's original but not odd sounding... I think it has a masculine and dignified ring to it.
I like Manning Charles or Manning Gabriel.

I once knew sisters named Ima and Ura, last name Hog. I'm a Hog and Your a hog is how it's pronounced.. don't put your son in a similar situation lol..

They will call him Man for short.It is a family name right?I think it is a very formal name and do not particularly like it for a child.It sounds very much like a butler's name. (No offense).(Manning, would you mind getting the guests into the dining room for dinner?)
