Hell, if Nancy Pelosi and her crew can get away with it, what do other cowards have to lose. America will soon be a 2nd class country.

That's OK, because Chavez is a Hispanic (minority).

Racism only applies to white people making racial slurs.

OK...the first problem with your question is your use of the word "us." You qualified: "Chavez called "US" gringos today." No, I'm sorry, I beg to disagree. Perhaps he called "YOU" a gringo today, but I do not identify with the oppressive, white, minority of priveledged classed, Anglo-protestant, super-wealthy heirs to Mayflower riches with the money and inclination to interfere in Venezuela's internal affairs...no, I'm not a gringo, and moreover, I know why he hates them. When you are from that class of Americans that truly stands to benefit from some Latin American government being toppled by coup d'etats, Chavez is certainly someone who SHOULD bother you (though not because he is calling you a 'gringo'). For the rest of us, Chavez makes for good theater, but little more.

I am a gringo. A cracker, a white girl. Big deal! A name is just a name.
The only way North America will become a 2nd class country is to worry about the names some fool calls us. Al though, I think Chavez has huge ca-hones and he is showing us a lot about who we are as a country. And,,,it doesn't matter that you don't like that.

Are you saying I should be pissed off because some small man in some third world country called me ( us ) a name? Did your mommy not teach about sticks and stones . . . . ? And what is your point regarding Nancy Pelosi - did she call us gringos to? Don't we have more important things to worry about than who is calling us names? Oh, I get it, you are 11 years old and want to pick a fight . . . . .

I don't get how Nut Case Chavez has anything to do with Nancy Pelosi. You sound like a right-wing neo-con who blames democrats for everything from bad weather to their bad breath.

One thing I learned a long time ago as a way to live a peaceful, useful life is not to take insults personally. It really gets in the way of thinking clearly. Obviously you have a really big problem with thinking if such insults bother you so much. Get over it.

It's no stretch to conclude that the President of Venezuela,
Hugo Chavez, is a racist bigot and doesn't care much for American culture much, and especially Anglos.

Don't be surprised if he follows the example of Fidel Castro and Nationalizes all the Oil Companies in Venezuela and kicks the US Businesses out. I don't see the any of the newly elected Democratic leadership in the House of Representatives able to do much but harass honest American citizens with more gun control legislation, lower wages, out-sourced jobs, and higher taxes. I don't believe foreign leaders perceive there to be any "tough guys" coming out of the American Democratic party and will run their "global power games out of control," if we elect a weak Democrat as President. It's a very scary thought.

What does either statement have to do with the other? If you are a product of US education then it's already a second-class country.

How does that have anything to do with being Liberal in the USA? It only means that he considers US citizens to be Yankees. No big deal.

Is gringo a racial slur? My Mexican friends call all Americans by the term gringo. I never saw anything wrong with it. Mainly because i don't know where the word comes from. Is it bad? I never though so.
