is trying to pass a law that says you can't spank kids. But he sure doesn't mind if you kill them with an abortion.
That, people, is liberalism at it's best. Totally contradictory. Don't you think?
And don't give me any crap about "it's not a person, it's a fetus." At approx 18 days there is a detectable heartbeat. Which means there is a heart. Now, isn't life sustained by a beating heart? I know mine is.

its the liberal kids that weren't spanked enough as children that become our useless goth teenagers and our artsy bum 30 somethings living off their tips from waitressing wondering why they got no where in life with their finger paintings. Liberals don't breed liberals, they create them with time outs and 'look here little mr that wasnt nice' attitudes.

p.s on the abortion part... it takes less then a week for the sperm and egg to combine the 46 chromosomes that make us human and nothing else. thats when the human life begins no matter what form its in and when those losers become killers.

While I agree that intrusion on parenting by passing laws against spanking is assinine.......
You are not sustained by a beating heart - you are sustained by an interconnected systems of organs that are fully developed and controlled by your central nervous system -- in other words your brain works (sorta) and therefore everything else works. You are a self-sustaining - an 18 day old fetus is not. You are awake and alert - an 18 day fetus is not........get where I am going with this.
Defining life is as vast as defining infinity - it is not one thing it is many things working in conjunction with one another.
Spanking children and abortion are two seperate entities.

Amen; Amazing that at 18 days there is a heartbeat, but some born people never seem to grow a brain. life is more important than your"choice"; you made the only choice that should be allowed when you got into bed with someone.

Well, we euthanized Terri Shiavo, who had a perfectly beating heart.

You also need a brain to sustain life. And besides, aborted fetus' aren't missing anything anyways. Just an assload of suffering and, as our reward for putting up with it, a chance to NOT make it into heaven.
What a raw deal.

I don't understand how "spanking your kids" is a "right" that you would want to defend.

It is an outdated practice used by those with neither the creativity or the patience to use proper behavioral control practices. Physical punishment, spanking, or as professionals call it "positive punishment" (the act of adding an unpleasant stimulus to affect behavior) is the least affective form of behavioral modification.

You are for life, but against quality of life? Seems kind of backwards to me.

ok, that's ridiculous! but then so is a lot of stuff that "liberals" do.
and YES, it is totally contradictory....it's also thoughtless and a perfect example of cognitive dissonance.
I think that "liberals" shouldn't be called "liberals" since the term "Liberal" means to be generous - they should be called "libertines" INSTEAD!
