Bush now proposes a 4th "surge". Which is really just digging the hole 1/4th deeper. Is he dragging the Republican party down with him?

Bush's Iraq excursion reminds me of the idiot husband who's lost behind the wheel and too bullheaded, ignorant, and insecure to ask his wife or a passerby for directions.

Like every other folly in Iraq, Bush's "surge" folly will be admitted to by him only a year after.

The fortunes of parties wax & wane. 12 years ago, the "conventional wisdom" (IMHO the penultimate oxymoron) was that Slick Willie would be a 1 term Pres. 24 years ago, this same "wisdom" was that Reagan would be a 1 term Pres.

I wouldn't bet on it. Vietnam didn't make the democrats irrelevant.
