Have you ever been with someone your family did not approve of (for whatever reason)? Do you regret being with that person? What was the result of the relationship, meaning are you still with that person or did you break up (if so why)?

I am in a relationship that my parents do not approve of. They don't want me to be with my boyfriend because of his nationality. Their reasoning is completely ridiculous to me! I refuse to give him up because of their prejudice.

Yes, I have - don't regret it at all. We have 2 gorgeous children!
Worry about who the person is on the inside :)

The only guys my parents approved of were the ones I didn't like. They were wrong. The ones they approved of were sneaky and phony and resorted to insincere flattery of my parents. My parents were easily fooled. The only ones I regret being with besides those were guys my parents didn't know anyhow, and I stopped seeing them on my own. Mostly I don't regret much about the guys I dated.

All the time. From different nationality, race, and age difference. It's probably the reason I did it. Anything to tick them off a little and be rebellious. I don't have any regrets. You need to do what feels right.

I've always told myself that if my family didn't like my boyfriend I wouldn't continue on with the relationship. But I probably won't ever have to worry about that because I look for guys that I know my family will like!

Yea they didnt approve of him because of all the things he did to me. I cant regret being with him because I got my 2 kids out of it. I am no longer with him because he seriously has a problem with being honest and faithful.

My father never approved of anyone I ever dated. I gave up on his approval pretty quick. No regrets, not with any of them now.

Oh U brought back old memories. It was years ago, he was so gorgeous!! But he was a mess, drugs etc. Now U have to understand I was a hippie so were way back LOL! anyway my mom said she did not want me around him, I think she thought I would do drugs, but I never did. Well anyway he came to our house 1 night and he was high!! My mom went to light her cigarette , he offered to do it and missed the cig and burnt her hair U can bet we never saw each other again! Thanks for bringing back a crazy and fun memory!

The result? The girl was a friggin' psycho and I dumped her.
