Does anyone know what "stepped increment" mean? Can someone explain it to me and, if possible, also tell me the concept in Spanish?

To me, stepped increment sounds like a binary-like behaviour.. ie. it can only be 0 or 1... not anything in between.

Step increments are used in some electric motors whereby the current is on and off to a series of coils thereby making the rotor spin.

Sorry, can't think of an easy example. Maybe do a google on "step function".. should be lots on it
