science is also used to save people in medical field. I do believe science heals more people than it drops bombs on.
science is like freedom, you have to take the good with the bad.

science doesn't kill people, people do!

Here's an easy way to find out how much of science is a blessing and how much is a curse. We know that every advance in human technology was originally a form of science, such as development of the wheel and concrete and ipods. Now, how much more would you rather go back and live in the stone age? That should give you the answer.

Throughout history, science has been a blessing and a curse.

Science certainly has raised our standard of living and medical science continues to cure inflictions that were fatal or debilitating only a short time ago.

Unfortunately, it has also given us "smart bombs" (what a great euphemism, eh?), nuclear bombs and has advanced the tools of war to an extent unprecedented in history.

I guess the bottom line as to whether science is a blessing or a curse depends on how man chooses to apply the technology.

answering to your question from the grammatical point of view: the word "blessing" comes from religious context (mostly christian).

Religion and science don't go along very well, as you must know... so it's not a good idea to use the word "blessing" with the word "science", therefore: science isn't a blessing. Again, from the grammatical point of view!!

I think science is quite neutral. Every time it help us live longer, like finding cures for diseases, we find better ways to kill each other. It would be nice if all science went to helping humanity, but we don't live in a perfect world.

Science is neutral. It can be a blessing or a curse depending on the person using it.

A tree has branches , as well as fruits.
you pick the fruit and feed a child , it is your intelligenge.
you pick a branch , and hit someone on head ; it is your fault.
dont blame the tree for your misdeeds.
same is true for science.
we cannot blame science for anything wrong done by any human, who misuses science.
science must not be called bad or good.
how we use it , must be rated good or bad

Science and its brother, technology, make our homes possible, keep them warm, provide electricity, computers, air travel, long life spans, TV, cars and everything else our civilization is based on so, yes, it is a blessing. Humans have never been as well off as they are right now thanks to science.

Blessing? Like from God? Are you kidding? There is no God, otherwise he would have given Hitler a heart attack BEFORE he murdered 6 million jews. Is science good? Ask yourself if you'd like to die of staph or VD. You'll bless it yourself all the way to the free clinic. Please...

when science is used to help people(treating cancer, etc...) it is good

but if science gets any more advanced, it will become VERY dangerous... i mean whoever heard of a hydrogen bomb 100 years ago...
