The class im planning on dropping is my gen chem 2 lab course because my course load is too much right now and im planning on taking the chem 2 lab in the summer and im sure i will do well.

I was just wondering when grad schools or med schools look at your transcript do they take more notice of the harder class then the easy ones...like even though i will have a W for chem 2 lab...will they take into account more that i did really well later on in Organic chem and 2 lecture and lab?

If you're on semesters, you're still early enough in the semester to drop without a W being assigned to your transcript.

Otherwise, most universities replace the W with your proper grade once you complete the course. As the above poster said, some colleges and universities have different policies, so you'll want to check with your registrar before making a decision.

Also, if you are a financial aide student, you'll want to make sure you are still enrolled at your current level (full time or part time), otherwise your aide will decrease for the semester/quarter and you'll have to reimburse the registrar for the amount of the class.

Edited to Add: Med schools usually have a specific set of courses that they look for in your transcript, but will only take your final grade into consideration.

Normallly the W disappears but each college could have its own procedure. Check with your registrar
