Have they taken food before? How long ago? Have they had their first shed? Snakes won't eat when they're born until they shed once. Or do you mean it's been a week or 2 since they last ate? They could not be hungry, or they could be hibernating. My boa hasn't eaten in almost 3 months, but she's healthy and active and hasn't lost weight. She's just chilling out for the winter. Check them for mites, and check their stool for signs of parasites. If all looks well, just try again in a few days. Maybe they're about to shed and you don't know it. It could be anything, but it's probably nothing serious.

Maybe they are going into shed soon.
If their eyes are a cloudy, a blueish colour and their scales look dull they are likely going to shed soon.
My snakes wont eat a week before their eyes go blue, nor do they eat the week that their eyes are cloudy and then they still don't eat for 1/2 a week to a week, 2.5 -3 weeks with out food. I also have a snake that wont eat in front of anyone, I have to leave the food in the cage.
I have corn snakes and a ball python.

This behavior is completly normal.I've worked around reptiles for 20+yrs., and feel certain they'll be fine.
How long have you had them? Anything new to the invironment? Are you feeding live food?Any changes in the local water and sewage systems?
These are all things to take into consideration.
Like any animal they are very tuned into your mood, and I've been surprised many times
at how much their handler's stress becomes their own.
All the other answers have good points. Are they ready to shed? What is the weather like?
Keep your eye on them and be very aware of any behavioral changes in them.
Good luck.

It's not uncommon for all varieties of Pythons & Boas to "fast" for weeks & even months. My Burmese python fasted 6 months once & went from 120 lbs to 85 lbs but the vet assured me he was just fasting. However, my Common boa had a sore mouth & wouldn't eat. Panalog ointment remedied that. If your snakes are in good health, they will be ok without eating for a few weeks but if it worries you, consult a herpetologist or call various vets to find one who knows about snakes & make an appointment to have them diagnosed.

It could be that they are just not hungry. A change in temperature or any changes to their enclosure can also make them not eat. I am sure they will eat when they are ready. My Ball Python went 3 months before he ate once, then went back to his normal routine.

These snakes can go months without eating so a week or two is really nothing to worry about.

your snake might not like the color of the mice, my husband and i had a ball python and he would only eat black rats, he wouldn't eat dead ones or mice, only full grown black rats. now those are hard to find where we live.

Hi Jesse, The snakes we had in school had to be force fed when they wouldn't eat. We gave them hamburger. Just push it far enough down their throats. Hope this helps.
