I just bought a little sunfish from a feeder tank. I'm pretty sure he's a pumpkinseed. He's sharing a tank with some large common goldfish until his very own tank gets cycled. I've been feeding him feeder guppies in a breeder box so the goldfish don't get them first. Anyway, I just wanted to know some info about keeping them, its my first aggressive fish.

I've kept wild-caught ones, along with bluegill and green sunfish species. As the sunfish go, pumpkinseeds are one of the prettier and more peaceful species. They don't mix well with other sunfishes in small tanks, but I kept small-medium sized ones with larger darters, minnow, and suckers with no problems.

You can feed him just about anything. Mine liked fish pellets (like for cichlids), bloodworms, earthworms, small fish, etc. Since they're a pond species, they can tolerate a wide range of temperatures. They don't particularly need a heater, but should have a good filter. They also will show their colors better if you give them a few hiding places and have some plants (real or artificial). Here are some web sites on them:

He is a cichlid that will be very similar to a jack dempsey in behavior. He will get to about 7 inches long and will eagerly devour any protien based food you give it. They love feeder crickets when they get around 4 inches long. They do poop alot so you will have to do alot of gravel vaccuuming. As he grows, You will see that he starts digging and arranging things his way. Good luck. Jason (Phoenix Phish care)

the terrific thank you to look after your imaginary puppy is to think of foodstuff at it real difficult. If it gets imaginary petpox, think of tetracycline, real difficult. of direction, the real terrific thank you to look after it is to launch it back into the imaginary wild and get your self a real puppy.
