On the news today...many opposed to internet killing (not hunting really, but maybe so) of critters.

What, so we spend billions killing people that way!

I am not an avid hunter, but I don't see the harm. Maybe there
is some...maybe it desensitizes people to the process of
killing. As if watching the news didn't. Seems like just some
inconsequential thing that cons and libs can agree to hate
and thus feel good about themselves.

Internet site allowing remote control of
the firing of a gun (for a fee) to shoot
a deer. Distasteful, yes. Apparently advertised as a "hunting" experience
for the handicapped.

But compared to
the insanity we see daily?

This seems to be more of a rhetorical opinion then a question

First of all, one shouldn't be making a comparison like the one you made, killing of animals and killing of people.
Second, IMO, it should be illegal to kill any living being for sport purposes, like the one you described here.
Two wrongs don't make a right.
I really hope that more people become aware of this Internet practice, and oppose to it, until there is none.
Human beings are the number one predator of all living beings, we were created that way in order to put food on our table, and not for the pleasure to end one's life.

Anyone who kills anything is a sicko. The killing of any living thing should stop. This is the Buddhist teaching.

The internet killing of animals? Can you be more specific? I have an email address if you want. I'm really curious as to what this is, I've never heard of anything you mentioned. Thanks. :)
