I have an acer laptop that is connected to my wireless network, and a desktop that I built that has a direct cable connection to the laptop. Is there any way that I can access the internet on the desktop through my laptop. how is your laptop connected to your wireless network? by a router or what?

if it's a router, then just connect both the laptop and the desktop to the router. then.. u can enjoy both wired and wireless access if u opt to. cuz if u have a direct cable connection from your desktop to your laptop, won't you be resticting the mobility of the laptop which is exaclty what a laptop is built for - mobility. then.. u won't be able to move your laptop anywhere u like. if that's the case, then why have wireless network? wireless allows you to move freely, but you laptop cannot even do that. so why wireless?

also.. by accessing the internet through your laptop, you have to on your laptop for the desktop to access the internet and it also slows down your internet speed which is a disadvantage.

i propose that you buy a router (if you don't have one) with both wired and wireless capabilities. so.. u can choose either wired or wireless or both. in this way, u can connect both laptop and desktop to the internet at the same time without switching on the laptop for desktop to access the internet. for this.. u only need 1 internet plan too. don't have to sign up for 2 to have 2 computers access the internet.
