Dr. Condoleezza Rice is the U.S. Secretary of State in the second term of President George W. Bush. Previously, Rice became Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs, commonly referred to as the National Security Advisor, on January 22, 2001, under President Bush. She is the second African-American to serve as National Security Advisor and the first woman to hold that office.
Dr. Condoleezza Rice became Secretary of State on January 26, 2005. Prior to this, she was the Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs, commonly referred to as the National Security Advisor, since January 2001.
