I have a lap top that needs a new lcd screen and I need to find out if HP NC6400 Laptop 14.1" widescreen is comatable with my 14" Hp dv100(part number: LTN140W1-L01). Does anyone know of a site in which i can go to or know if this part will fit and be compatable?

Write HP an email (which is usually found under customer service) and ask them. It might take a few days to get an answer but at least you would know if that is the right screen.

If the part numbers don't match odds are against it working.
Unfortunately, using the same sized display between to different models are not sure to work. But you may get lucky.
You can get HP display's part numbers from their part surfer site.
http://partsurfer.hp.com/cgi-bin/spi/main?
Search for both laptops. See if they match.
Note: You will need the actual laptop model number from underneath each of the systems.
