I LOVE THAT SHOW- seems like he is asorbing peoples powers- the invisible guy and the guy in nevada the the hands- i hate to say it but it looks like he can not handle them and may be the bomb himself-

What is more he is invisible.
He found a new friend and this one has the ability to make himself invisible. His hope is that the man can help him get a grip on his power as he has learned that it has a major drawback which is that he takes on some of the thoughts of the people he mimics. In short, he is an empath. If he were to hook up with Jessica at this point he might take her personality out of Nikki completely.
As is, he is more worried about taking on Sprague's powers. Each person has to learn how to control their own power. Peter has to learn what they learned or make a mistake and blow up the world.
That is what he is doing right now.

He saw him because he was near him and took on the guy's power of invisibility. When the invisible guy was choking him the camera panned out and you could see the other people on the street but not them because they were both invisible.

peter's powers are adapting. he is an empath so he can sense other heroes, that's how he could see the invisible man. The IM is supposed to teach peter how to control and use his powers.
