I would recommend you do both, one as a day job and the other in a moonlighting capacity. Studying dinosaurs is a fascinating field which I spend much of my spare time in and have learned so much about the subject that I'll be writing a book soon regarding the subject. Video game designing is something I toyed with a time back but found that studying dinosaurs took up much of my time and provided me with the greatest enjoyment and fulfillment. But if you can, I would do both.

Be what you want to be, do what you want to do. One can be a paleontologist and a game designer at the same time. Most important is that you do what YOU want to do. You cannot be a good carpenter if you would rather be a baker. Sure, you can make sturdy stairs, but if your heart and soul is not in the work it is for naught.

wow you're like me and are intrested in a lot of diffrent things...so the answer...I can't tell you, no one can, it's choice you'll have to make for yourself. Now I will say this, careers in video games can be risky becuase do you ever buy a game that's for a counsol that's not made by Nintendo, Sony, or Microsoft? You're gambling that a big company will hire you, and it's probley a fun career, but it also depends on how much you like dinos and digging for fossiles.
