Copy: Command + C
Cut: Command + X
Paste: Command + V
The command key is next to your space bar. It's the one that's got the Apple logo in it.

Hello ian s,
The Command (Apple and/or a cloverleaf symbol) key is the one that's located on the left and on the right of the space bar. This is great so you can use one hand to select the Command key and what ever other key that you want with one hand.
You select the text by pressing the mouse key and dragging it across the text. The selected text will turn blue. Now press the Command + C to copy the text into the computer's clipboard.
Click anywhere else in your text, or any other Mac program. This drops the text "I" bar into the text. Next, hit the Command + V to paste the text from your clipboard to where ever the "I" beam.
Oh you can select the text by holding down the Shift key and moving the cursor arrow keys.
Go up to the Edit menu command at the top of the screen. Next to each menu command is the keyboard equivalent.

its either left ctrl+ C to copy, left ctrl +V to paste
Or it is the apple button (right next to space bar) + C to copy, then same button + V to paste. similar to windows, only with either the ctrl button or the apple button
