why cant i buy tobacco seeds?

it is a legal substance but you cant buy seeds. poppies are the same but you can grow plenty of toxic plants any time why

Why that would enable you to grow your own tobacco and make cigarettes for pennies each. Do you really think the government will let you do something like that? It would harm our tax base. Even if they did, do you think the tobacco companies wouldn't want a slice of your American pie. Furthermore you probably wouldn't be willing to pay off the senators and congressmen that protect the cash crop of companies like Philip Morris and the others. What's wrong with you anyway? You must be one of those people who believe in free enterprise.

I believe you can purchase and buy the seeds. You can also grow tobacco for your own use. What you can't do is grow tobacco and sell it. The Fed's will be on you quick. The ATF alcohol tobacco and firearms people. I think its just like making alcohol you can do that for your own use as well.

Tobacco can only be grown in certain states by people who have tobacco allotments (a fixed number of acres to plant in tobacco). I know some people in Tennnesse thats all they do is grow tobacco. Even with a small farm they were able to live off the income.

I don't know how long this has been going on. But I've seen seeds for sell on the internet. I planned on ordering and planting my own but never got around to it.

because they dont want you to grow it. tobacco is taxed heavily, so if you were growing it in your back yard, they wouldnt be getting tax out of you (unless you voluntarily told them you had it). that is why you arent allowed to grow tobacco.
