Did anyone ask him which side he was on? Answer that one wrong and you deserve a beating. I'm from the north by the way.

South Carolina is the tip of the iceberg.

If you want to explore the south in relative safety, you need to speak like a native. If you can't manage that, then speak as little as possible.

Trust me. I grew up there and went to college and grad school where the confederate flags still fly.

PS - rent a car, and especially don't drive around in anything with a plate from the northeast on it.

Really? Wow...I never knew some southerners were like that. I'm from NYC and I went to the South numerous times, in S. Caronlina as well and I was treated with "southern hospitality" even though I kinda have that Yankee accent.

He must have been saying bad things about the south or southerners. But many people from the south are a bit of a hick or rebel.♪

wait i'm confused. a yankee usually refers to "americans" ("yank"). i don't know why an american would get beat up for being american in his own country.

a yankee is also a player for the yankees. maybe you mean a "yankee fan?" why would they get beat up in south carolina when there is no major league team there?
