My son is the same way. He prefers dealing with adults, particularly reasonable acting ones.
He is only 11, but he was never treated like a baby, always expected to be mannerly and controlled. He doesn't get the craziness that surrounds kids his age, or those of high school. He even had a teacher he disliked because he thought the guy was immature! If you are serious, you will get along with him, if you aren't, my son won't pay you no mind.
If I had to guess, you probably had a loving, but firm childhood. You probably have a good moral base and don't quite get why people are the way they are at your own age level. Trust me, that is a GOOD thing! The whole teen scene is one giant mind game.

No one knows how people connect and become good friends, or even why, certain ppl connect and others don't. Perhaps you have more in common with these older individuals than you do with kids your own age. I think similar backgrounds, ideas, as well as interests, dreams and experiences bring people closer together than simply sharing an approximate age. I'm 23 and 2 of my very dearest friends... yes FRIENDS not relatives, are well into their 60s. Sometimes other ppl may think you look out of place but as long as YOU don't feel out of place there's nothing wrong with having older friends. In the end an adult is an adult and there shouldn't be barriers as to who you can be friends with based on age.

I am really the same way almost. I would much rather spend my time with adults than with peers a lot of the time. Its probably just because your very mature for your age and a lot of your peers still act like 13 year olds. Completely understandable. Although I find its really rewarding when you find some cool friends who act their age and they can show you a great time that an adult never could.

Perhaps because your 'soul group' is an older mix? Who knows.
Go with the flow. Water seeks it's own level. Hold out for what feels right! Relax! In a few years the years wont matter.

I've been like that since i was little, when i was like 8 i would be talking to adults all the time. And they always talked back to me like they didn't remember how young i was, I could barely stand kids my age. I dont know why it is for you, but things kids were doing at my age seemed trivial to me.

maybe your just more mentally mature than your age. it shouldn't be a bad thing for you but it's better to have friends your age as well.
there are somethings you just can't tell older people and having friends (with things in common ) would help alot.
