I use a microfiber cloth and water for the walls of the frig...and like you, take everything out. I throw what I can in the dishwasher, and wash the rest in the tub.

I like to take all the shelves and drawers out and wash them in the sink like I would normally wash all my other dishes, but then I go over them once with a paper towel and some Clorox Cleanup, just to kill additional germs that may have lingered from the sponge or food that dripped on them. Then I use more Clorox Cleanup and paper towels to wipe out the entire inside. Don't use washcloths or sponges. They trap germs and then you're just passing the germs around. Use disposable paper towels and change them frequently.
I usually take this opportunity to check expiration dates because you'd be surprised at some things you think have only been in the fridge awhile and suddenly they're totally expired and going bad. Like the mustard you were using all summer long for the BBQ's suddenly is sitting there and no longer good. Little things like that.
Then to finish it off I place a brand new Arm & Hammer baking soda box in there to absorb odors. Happy Cleaning!

I also go the Clorox Cleanup route. Just make sure that you wear gloves and have a fan blowing the fumes away from you. If this product gets on your hands everything that you eat will taste really weird, and the fumes are harmful to your lungs and will also make everything smell and taste funny. You should always use these precautions when using a bleach product. Also, be sure to wipe all surfaces with a damp cloth when finished, rinsing frequently. This will remove any bleach that may harm the interior of your fridge.

Sounds good. We add a little white vinegar to our soapy water - makes the fridge smell great. Activated charcoal or some baking powder to keep it fresh and you are a regular Martha Stewart.

I do what you do. I use hot soapy water on the insides and do the racks in the sink.

For scrubbing off yucky stuff, instead of comet, I use baking soda and water to make a paste. It scrubs without harsh chemicals.

I empty out the fridge little by little and use Mr. Clean and water in a bucket.
